Music is the universal language; enjoyed by all. Music lyrics offer many interpretations and it is in this regard that lyrics resemble poetry. In fact, that is what music lyrics are: poetry that is sung. Just like poetry is meant to be verbally spoken to obtain its full appreciation, music lyrics need to be sung.

Do you miss me like I miss you?
Or have you moved on?
Do you lay awake at night
Counting the seconds till dawn?

Do you think about me
And how we had a love so strong?
Do you ever ask yourself
Where did it all go wrong?

Read a sneak preview of Chrissy Yacoub’s upcoming novel The Mist of Sins.

"God punishes the transgressions of the parents by making their children suffer.” Those were the words of Isabel Graham that would forever echo within the deep mist of the haunting Green Mountains of Vermont where her husband Jack was savagely murdered; his remains left mutilated and unrecognizable.

Now fifteen years later Isabel is still tormented by Jack’s death with the knowledge that he died before she had a chance to confess a terrible sin she committed – one that would alter their future forever. Desperately burying the betrayal of her past, Isabel refuses to talk about it with the one person who knows her secret, her husband’s brother Benjamin.

Misty Graham had it all; a husband who worshipped her, a daughter she adored and a best friend she couldn’t do without all living under one roof with Caleb’s mother and Uncle Benjamin near the beautiful yet haunting Shires of Vermont. Misty was content until Jasper Tucker, an old flame from Misty’s past, appears in her life awakening feelings that Misty was sure were dead. Her mother-in-law Isabel watches with scorn as Misty dangerously plays with fire. She reprimands her daughter-in-law for her foolish behavior, warning her about the perils of temptation and reminding her that “the wages of sin is death.” Misty is certain something much deeper is troubling Isabel who is constantly tormented by the ghosts of her past.

Meanwhile, brutal slayings begin to occur surrounding the forests of Vermont with a murderer who disfigures his victims and abandons them for dead while leaving no traces behind; feeding into the local town gossip that something paranormal haunts the Shires of Vermont – the very same entity that destroyed Jack Graham all those years prior.

Now Isabel is convinced more than ever that her family is the next target as the victims are hitting closer and closer to home. All the while, she watches with horror as Misty commits the same heinous transgressions Isabel was guilty of causing Caleb to follow a similar demise as his father. Isabel casts her judgmental finger on her daughter-in-law blaming her for her son’s death.

Slowly as the dense fog of the evil woods begins to fade, the indiscretions and family secrets become exposed in the harsh light of day. As they do, the Graham family discovers that something much deeper than the paranormal plagues them – a monster that lurks in the thickets parts of the woods, waiting, watching, and plotting the perfect vengeance to the many sins that were buried in the mist.
